Testimonials

Barra & Trumbore did my new kitchen countertops. They are beautiful – they did a great job! Initially, after my old counters and sink was removed I waited about 2 weeks for the counter installment, and it was well-worth the wait! Also, all the staff I came in contact with were kind and courteous. All-in-all, it was a positive experience.

We would like to express our great satisfaction with our recent purchase of soapstone countertops and sink. The whole purchasing process was enjoyable, and the installation was quick and professional. Our kitchen looks beautiful!

Paul and I want to extend our sincere thanks for the professionalism, promptness, and expert craftsmanship that you provided throughout our relationship. We absolutely love our new countertops and have received many compliments already. Thanks for your guidance and we certainly enjoyed working with your office. We will pass along your name every chance we get.

We just wanted to drop a line and let you know how thrilled we are with our new countertop. It was a pleasure working with such a professional group of people. The countertops were worth the wait.

We are thrilled with the results and feel you made it so easy. I’m telling everyone interested in hearing about Barra & Trumbore. Also please pass on a thank you to the installers. I could tell they were working hard but they always has a smile on whenever they talked to me and it turned out BEAUTIFUL!

Welcome to Barra & Trumbore

Locally Owned and Operated

David Barra and Martin Trumbore have dedicated more than two decades to perfecting the process of transforming dimensional stone into beautiful kitchens and baths in the Hudson Valley and surrounding Tri-State Area. Our shop is based in Kerhonkson, New York and our skilled staff has years of hands-on knowledge of the craft. We guide our clients through each step of the process; from material selection to design, fabrication and installation of the finished product. We specialize in projects utilizing all types of natural stone and a variety of engineered materials. Dimensional stone applications extend far beyond kitchen and bath projects. Consider large format slab flooring, wainscoting, simple or ornate profile moldings, furniture, etc. Many stone varieties are freeze/thaw stable as well making them ideal for exterior use. Please contact Katie Weems, our Office Manager, to come see our shop and wander through our pavilion to find exactly what you’re looking for.

State-of-the-Art Technology

In addition to our highly skilled craftsmen, we employ the use of CNC machinery to cut and shape material enabling us to reduce lead-times, and price our work competitively.

Environmentally Conscious

The process of extracting stone blocks from natural formations and transforming them into slabs for installations half way around the world is labor and resource intensive. At Barra & Trumbore Stone Fabricators, we continue to invest in technology that helps offset this unfortunate reality. Before moving to our current location in Kerhonkson, we installed high efficiency shop lighting and a high pressure water recycling system that has reduced our water consumption by more than 95%. All the fabrication in our shop is done wet in order to reduce airborne matter and keep the diamond tooling cool. On March 1, 2011, our photovoltaic (installed by Lighthouse Solar) went live. At 51kw, this system generates electricity superfluous to our demand, and the excess is fed back into the grid effectively offsetting all the miles we drive… and then some!
Though we work with material from all over the world we are proud that many of our perennial favorites are quarried close by. These include: Danby marbles, Virginia Mist granite, Onondaga limestone, slates and bluestones, and many other varieties. If “local” matters to you, please ask us about what we have available!
